This back yard was initially unusable. It was full of overgrown cedar hedges and a rotting deck/gazebo. We removed everything from the backyard, including the muddy ground, which caused the existing deck to fail. The muddy ground was replaced with road base to make a solid foundation for the client’s new outdoor living space. The paver patio and artificial grass were placed directly on top of the road base to make for a low maintenance, long lasting surface. Beautiful Whistler Basalt Stack Stone retaining walls were installed on all edges of the back yard to hold a variety of perennial plants. New fencing and lattice work were installed to provide privacy for the home owners. Evening and nighttime landscape lighting was placed to not only add beauty to the backyard, but also to extend the hours that the backyard could be enjoyed. The wire to supply electricity to the hot tub was installed underground prior to the installation of the paver patio.
As part of the backyard landscaping project, the front entrance area and walkway to the backyard were also landscaped. This design made it easy for guests to find their way to the backyard without having to go through the house. Three basalt pillars that are four feet tall were buried a foot into the ground to provide the effect you see above. We used professional grade, hard-wired, LED Aquascape lights to back-light the pillars.
We look forward to meeting with you and discussing your renovation or new construction project. Please feel free to give us as little or as much information as you choose.
