This renovation involved the main floor including the kitchen, living room, and powder room, as well as adding a third floor to the loft. The addition of the 3rd floor involved adding a new staircase, railings, and lighting. The kitchen was completely gutted down to the studs. The new kitchen features solid white shaker doors and drawers with a beautiful Caesar stone countertop. New pot lights were installed in the ceiling and under the cabinets for maximum lighting. A gorgeous island was installed to add additional cabinet and countertop space. This kitchen also features modern, durable, laminate flooring.
During the design phase of this project, our team worked with the clients to choose all the fixtures and finishes for the kitchen. As the clients have a large family, it was important to include space for a large refrigerator and as much storage as possible in the kitchen. In the original kitchen design, there was space for a small table that could seat 3 people. This area was replaced with more custom cabinetry to provide more storage space, and a large island was installed in the middle of the kitchen with an overhang that accommodates three bar stools.
As part of the kitchen and main floor renovation, the powder room was completely redone to give a modern finish that matched up with the kitchen cabinetry. A large countertop with a built in porcelain sink was used to provide ease of cleaning for this large family. Modern looking cabinetry was chosen that matched up with the feel of the house. A multi-light vanity was chosen to provide the bathroom with an abundance of light as it has no windows.
The biggest requirement of this renovation, second only to a beautiful kitchen, was to create an additional bedroom for one of the clients' children. The second floor of the existing townhouse design had an 18 foot high ceiling. A third floor was added to this area which became the additional bedroom. The bedroom was designed to fit into the existing walls and as such our designer had to create a lot of built in areas for furniture. A large skylight was added not only to add a window into the room but to function as a fire escape.
We look forward to meeting with you and discussing your renovation or new construction project. Please feel free to give us as little or as much information as you choose.
