The Indoor Outdoor Guy, Joseph Neely, has been in involved in the Vancouver construction industry for the past 10 plus years. Joseph was the Construction Coordinator for the World Changers humanitarian projects in the Vancouver area in 2002 and 2003. World Changers is a non-profit charitable organization that helps people in need with housing. The provincial MLA Patrick Wong recognized Joseph Neely for his excellent contribution to the city of Vancouver.
Joseph through his company develops creative projects with limited space and a mind for green sustainable building. Joseph’s areas of focus include character home restorations, smalls buildings (backyard offices and studios), laneway houses and decks . The Indoor Outdoor Guy Renovations also takes on a full range of renovation projects including: additions , bathrooms, kitchens, decks, backyard studios, sheds, and custom house construction.
In addition to residential projects, due to excellent workmanship and the ability to meet deadlines, Joseph works with the same Co-operatives and Strata’s annually, maintaining their housing. This is accomplished by maintaining a dependable crew of quality carpenters and other trades people. Joseph teaches his staff to aim for perfection in every job because if they aim for perfection at the very least they will end up with a good job. However, if they aim for merely a good job at the start, they might only end up with an average job. Joseph further explains to his staff that a client is almost always satisfied with perfect or good job, but rarely with an average job.
In 2008 Joseph and his renovation company, The Indoor Outdoor Guy, was selected to build the deck work for the feature home in the 2008 Spring Home and Garden Show at BC Place. Joseph was chosen by the Greater Vancouver Home Builders Association as a result of his renovations showcasing creativity and excellent workmanship.
Joseph through The Indoor Outdoor Guy Renovations inc holds memberships with the BBB, GVHBA and RenoMark programs. Joseph’s company has an A+ rating with the BBB.
Joseph continually takes courses and seminars on BC building code and Green Building requirements in British Columbia. This enables Joseph to navigate the complicated BC requirements as set forth by the BC code and the City of Vancouver. It also enables successful onetime completion of projects. Joseph ensures that his staff is adequately trained for the projects they undertake, not only as carpenters but for all the products they install. Many of his staff are certified master craftsman and TimberTech installers.
